If .. Else statement

Hi everyone,

I have an output file and somewhere in this file there is a line looks like

Code:
# Integrated weight : .60573E+01

I need to write a shell script which finds and reads the above line,
then if the number given in that line is in certain interval (let's say 5 < # < 9)
do some algebraic calculations.

so how can I write this if .. else statement?

thanks a lot

Hi, what I posted here is not a home or course work. I am a postdoc in a university, and I do make quite complicated calculations, this is a part of research project.

That seems implausible, given the nature of your question and having viewed your posting history.
