Shell Programming and Scripting

Hi i am trying to look into a folder recursively for files greater than 10mb and delete those using a shell script, i am using the below command :

find $4 -depth -size +10000000c -exec rm -rf '{}' \; -print

this command is able to list the files greater than 10mb but it is not able to delete them.

Please Suggest.

What error message do you get?

Permission denied from command prompt and also within the script the exit code is not 0.

Ah if you are not owner then of course things are different....

but i wanted to delete all those files forcefully, even i am not the owner.

This is like driving a car, even when you are not the owner. You should have at least a key, then.
You can delete non-owned files if
a) you are root (or can su)
b) you belong to the group the file is assigned to, and this group has write access plus you can write the directory
c) the file has other write permission and you can write the directory.

And, we are not talking extended attributes now.
