Backup shell script created temp files .

Hi,
I've a script which creates a temp flat file for storing all business dates received on a single day from diff control files sent by source system on that day.
e.g on 12th april I receive txns for business day 8,9,10,11 april.
I capture this business day and append to a flat file from control file .
Another etl process at end of day, processes data and moves the temp file to backup so that next day we create fresh temp file for business date.
Issue is that in case the move of temp file fails at eod,and bod script runs which appends this temp file,it will have more no of business dates than required.
also it is possible that support team might delete the temp file at wrong time (when they find that move of temp failed and bod script ran and appended the file) causing loss of business date information.

Pl assist how to resolve this issue of storing multiple business dates since I do not have any table whch can store many dates.

Can you post the script here, so that we can review?
Make sure to wrap it in CodeTags.
