Please suggest a regular expression to match "check_geomtools.exe:" and check if the file contains ".lib" in the entire path.

The string is as follows:

E:\gtmproj\script\i486_nt\obj\check_geomtools.exe: o:\portsrc\spg\system_1\i486_nt\advapps\TK-2\objmt\winclockmtq.lib

If you know that "check_geomtools.exe:" comes first, I think the following regular expression will work:

If the lib part can come before, it's more complicated.

Can't help. Sorry. It works with regular expressions as I use them in grep. Maybe there is something different in whatever you are using. It would help if you posted the script you have so far. Would make it clearer what you are trying to do.

Of course, if you want "lib" to be at end of line, you could put $ at end of RE. But that's not the problem.

i need to check,

1) if "check_geomtools.exe" is present in the path and then check if the string ends with ".lib"

2) if returns true, a command should be there to "grep all .lib from the file and copy them into a new directory.
