How to set output delimiter?

Hello,All

Suppose I have a file like following:

Code:
aaa;bbb;ccc
ddd;eee;fff

I want the output like:

Code:
aaa|bbb|ccc
ddd|eee|fff

To do this, i wrote the code:

Code:
awk 'BEGIN{FS=";";OFS="|"} {print}' myfile

However, the output is still using ; as the delimter. What did I do wrong? Thanks.
