Cronjob issue
Dear expert,

I have script named as test.sh in HP-UX

i am using like 00 00 */15 * * : but its cronjob giving error

i want to schedule my script for each 15 days interval exactly.

for example:15 jan,30 jan,15 feb, 2 march, 17 april...etc.


quick response must be highly appreciated.

Is giving what error?

For really complicated time intervals which cron can't accept, what's often done is setting the script to run daily, then having the script check time itself and quit early if not in a proper range.

In HP-UX crontab does not support the syntax */15

Have a look at this thread and apply the solution provided by era. I hope this helps.

Did you read the link given?

Another option would be to use my suggestion of a job which runs everyday, and checks itself to see if today's date is valid and quits early if not.

The standards don't recognize / as a valid character in a day of month specification in crontab entries (and it is not mentioned in the HP/UX 11 crontab(1) man page). The /x is an extension recognized by some systems to specify something to happen every x units (in this case days), but it is not valid on HP/UX.
