Replace 10th column with a new column--- Terriblly hurry
Hi Can any one tell me how to replace the 10th column in a file(comma delimted) with a new file with a single column. Can any one Help me out of the please as soon as possible as i am in a terribley hurry!!!!!!

Suppose your existing file has n columns then using "paste" command make it n+1. this is the new column you want in file.
Next with help of awk reformat the columns as you desire.

something:

paste file1 file2 > file3   //pls see the manual of paste i m not too sure of the syntax.
awk -F"," 'print $1","$2....$n+1...$n' etc
