Shell Programming and Scripting

Hi I have 2 csv files comma delimited. One of the files has a hostname,vg,filesystem, %used.We'll call this one file1. I have another csv file comma delimited with hostname,vg,ldev. We'll call this file 2. I would need to make one file with hostname,vg,filesystem,ldev,%used.

I have started with opening file1 and putting into a hash. I also opened file2 and put it into a hash. But now am stuck...

Fairly new to perl so bare with me.

Any help greatly appreciated!

can you provide sample i/p?

I think using has with "${hostname}-${vg}" as a key and other things as values of that key. This should be fairly simple
1. read the first file in hash
2. read the second file and check if key exists, then just add extra params as values

It would look something like

                              fs => aaa,
                              used => 50,
                              ldev => bbb,
                           },
  <HOST1-VG2> -> {
                              fs => aaa1,
                              used => 50,
                              ldev => bbb1,
                           }
