why dont you use the print statement inside your input file ?

I tried using list command as below
Code:
sqlplus user/pwd@dbname << EOF
$(awk '{print $0"\nlist"}' inputfile.txt)
EOF

And this is printing the input query as well for each of the output but the thing is query is displayed after the command gets executed. As list command works for last executed sql statement i suppose we can only display after the query gets executed. If there is a way we can display query first and then the output, please do reply.

I would do as itkamaraj suggested. Put a remark in your SQL file. You can do that using the prompt command.
