Perl script help

Hi

I have an output that looks like this

Code:
anmtl117,/dev/hd4,288,24%,4758,9%,/,rootvg
anmtl117,/dev/fslv01,2048,1%,4,1%,/IBMperfpmr,rootvg
anmtl117,/dev/hd11admin,128,1%,5,1%,/admin,rootvg
anmtl117,/dev/fslv00,512,18%,801,1%,/appl/cyb_agent,rootvg
anmtl117,/dev/auditfs,256,53%,558,2%,/audit,rootvg
anmtl117,/dev/hd1,15360,54%,1495,1%,/home,rootvg
anmtl117,/dev/logs,224,55%,207,1%,/logs,rootvg
anmtl117,/dev/hd10opt,1536,43%,11606,6%,/opt,rootvg
anmtl117,/dev/hd3,1312,1%,89,1%,/tmp,rootvg
anmtl117,/dev/hd2,4608,71%,51024,14%,/usr,rootvg
anmtl117,/dev/hd9var,608,34%,1060,2%,/var,rootvg

The field seperator is "," so
I need to multiply $3 by $4 and then add them all up for each line.

Any help would be great

Not perl, but try:
Code:
awk -F, '{sub("%","",$4);x+=$3*$4/100}END {print x}' file

Code:
$ awk -F',' '{val=$3*$4/100; total=total+val; print val}END{print "TOTAL: "total}' <sample14.txt
69.12
20.48
1.28
92.16
135.68
8294.4
123.2
660.48
13.12
3271.68

Perl,

Code:
$ perl -nle '@f = split(/,/, $_); print "$f[1] -> " . ($f[2] * $f[3] / 100)' data.txt
/dev/hd4 -> 69.12
/dev/fslv01 -> 20.48
/dev/hd11admin -> 1.28
/dev/fslv00 -> 92.16
/dev/auditfs -> 135.68
/dev/hd1 -> 8294.4
/dev/logs -> 123.2
/dev/hd10opt -> 660.48
/dev/hd3 -> 13.12
/dev/hd2 -> 3271.68
/dev/hd9var -> 206.72

Using brinix's perl code with slight modifications:
Code:
perl -F',' -lane 'print "$F[1] -> " . ($F[2] * $F[3] / 100)' data.txt
