Replace first 3 characters in a unix file in all lines

Replace first 3 characters in a unix file (say replace "A&B" with "C&D") in all lines of the file. Need a sed or awk script to do this. Kindly help!

Sir- With all due respect.Don't try to bully me. We are here to help each other. this is a forum. If you can't help , please do not post anything.I don't need your help by the way. So unkind of you for using unnecessary language in this forum.
I was just being courteous in asking.. so you don't deserve that respect?
This command is just going to help me modify the file which was written incorrectly. that's it. i am not going ot develop a bigger product out of this small thing. I am an already an expert in other languages/streams. My area of expertise is different. So don't humiliate others.
