Change/Delete Multiline text
Hi,

I want to change/delete all occurences of a multiline text in a file which match the specific pattern:

Code:
aaa <This text should
be changed>bbb
ccc
ddddddd
eee<This text
should be changed> fff
gggggg
hhh<This
text should be deleted> iii
jjjj
kkkkk<This text
should be deleted>llllll

The "aaa" or "ccc" does not mean a specific text, it just denotes that there is some text written

The file should look like this:

changesbbb
ccc
ddddddd
eeesome
changes fff
gggggg
hhh iii
jjjj
kkkkkllllll

use sed to replace the data,

Code:
 
sed 's/aaa/bbb/g' file_name.txt >> new_file.txt
