Delete till ">" is found in all lines in a file

Hi,

I have a file which has lines like these :

Quote:
INFORM----VMM.cc:175:20120913090712 > VMM: Connecting to database user geneva_admin
INFORM----VMM.cc:282:20120913090712 > VMM:Inside function checkMode
INFORM----VMM.cc:285:20120913090712 > VMM:VMM running Mode is RR [RR]
INFORM----VMM.cc:308:20120913090712 > VMM:Exiting function checkMode
I want to trim everything from the left till ">" such that the file looks like :

Quote:
VMM: Connecting to database user geneva_admin
VMM:Inside function checkMode
VMM:VMM running Mode is RR [RR]
VMM:Exiting function checkMode
If you have any ideas how to do this in 1-2 commands please help.

Thanks.
