use this in place of your last line in script
y will have the next word from test.txt after word_passed
Code:
y=$( awk -v val=$word_passed '(/val/){getline;print $1}' test.txt   )

Hi raj_saini20

Code:
y=$( awk -v val=$word_passed '(/val/){getline;print $1}' test.txt   )

this line is not returning any value.

See the output below.

Code:
+ usage='Usage is test.sh'
+ usage='Usage is test.sh [-a <dumpfile_name>]'
+ [ 1 == 0 ]
+ [ 1 != 1 ]
+ /usr/bin/getopt a: -aabc
+ set -- -a abc --
+ [ -a != -- ]
+ dumpfile=abc
+ shift
+ shift
+ [ -- != -- ]
+ echo abc
abc
+ awk -v val=abc '(/val/){getline;print $1}' test.txt
+ y=''
+ echo

y is not assigned any value.
