Shell Programming and Scripting

Hi,

Background: There are 2 servers server1 and server2
In server1 i have my script to perform a functionality from the script in server1 i m calling a script named action in server2. The script action has to check the size of a file in a particular location in server1, if the size of the file is not equal to 0 it has to send out a mail to a team.

Help:
1]how do I call the script action from a script in server1??
2]how do i connect to the server1 from the action script in server2??
3] how do i exit after all the action is being performed??

P S: Sever2 is coming into picture as the firewal in server1 doesnt allow to send out mails.

Stop using "help me" as your thread titles. Try to come up with something short and descriptive of the problems, please!

Why don't you just do what you need done on server1, with server1, and in the event you need to send out a mail, you can setup SSH keys on server2 and force the command to be mail. (or not force the command ...)

then it should be as easy as ssh user@server2 mail -s subj < file
