Mod Comment Please use code tags next time for your code and data. Also refrain from using smaller fonts than the default - it does not make it easier to read, thanks.

What is this number: 07312012 I am guessing it is seconds, but seconds since when?
What OS are you on? (example: Ubuntu 11.1, Solaris 10)

The very short answer is that you will have to write a shell script, perl, or C to get what you want.

Hi Jim,
My requirement is like
1. Upstream Application will send .csv (like -rw-r--r-- 1 kbehera Domain Users 293 07312012:17:36:35 new_sand.csv)
2. From the .csv file we have to take only 07312012(month day and year) and save with a variable
3. Check the system date only ex- 07312012(month day and year) and save a variable then compare with file generated date(07312012:17:36:35 new_sand.csv)
4. Main propose to check .csv file timestamp and today’s date timestamp only ‘month day and year’ equal or not
5. Then will proceed for next …..

Thanks,
Krupa
