How to use rcp to get last file in directory?

If I want to use rcp to get a file from a different host, but I don't know the exact name of the file, I just know it's format, and that it must be the latest file. I need to do this in a ksh script. Here's what I have:

Code:
#!/usr/bin/ksh
rcp host1:/tmp/$(ls ReportFile.* | tail -1) /currenthost's/path/to/tmp

However, I get the error ReportFile.* can't be found. I know the syntax is wrong, but how else can I grab the last ReportFile?

Bit hacky, and assuming you have a .config or .authorized_key kinda setup, but:

Code:
scp dc6nim:/tmp/$(ssh host1 'ls -tr /tmp/ReportFile* 2>&1|tail -1) /tmp

Tested that with scp myself just now and worked fine.
