executing ksh script

I am trying to call a ksh script from another ksh script.
in the called script , i am doing sum calculation(used typeset etc)

suppose a.ksh is the calling script and b.ksh is the called script .
. b.ksh (used this inside a.ksh)
this execution gives some error like bad number.

but when i run this same script(b.ksh ) manually by giving the command
ksh b.ksh . it runs sucessfully

please help

Thanks in Advance

How do you want us to help you, we have objectively nothing to look at...
We have no idea of what is in the scripts nor how it is written, no error output ( the true message - and complete!)...
We dont know what platform no OS either...

All I see here, is when you run your script with ksh it works according to you making me believe it was not executable otherwise why use such syntax when b.ksh should suffice?
