Power PERL - if not found in file
Hi,

This is probably a stupid question, but I cant seem to get this to work. Being new to perl I dont see what is wrong.

I am passing $1 from a squid redirector script, this piece of code never seems to be working SmilieSmilie

Code:
#!/bin/sh
open(FILE,"myurls");
if (grep{/$1/} <FILE>){

echo "found" >> try

}else{

echo "not found" >> try
}
close FILE;

Could someone tell me what is wrong here.

If you want to write Perl script you should start by changing first line to:

#!/usr/bin/perl

I think I have to make it in shell. Caught the idea of using perl because of squid. but guess I dont need it.

So you want to make it shell! Now Please post examples of input & output.

I think I can do it in shell Smilie
Something like this-

fi
