Count from the log file

I have a logfile which would be generated for every process and the log file looks like process1_ddmmyyyy_hhmmss.log ..there would be a log file generated after completion of the process but that would have a different name based on the timestamp.

I can use ls -1 -rt | tail -1 but this would only give me the latest one. But I need the latest log file wrt process1

The log file would contain the number of records that have been loaded and other information.

I need a script to get the latest log file (process1*) and then from the log file I have to search for the number of successful records in the log and cut and store it in a variable.

for example if logfile looks like this:

*******************************
*******************************
*******************************
***2345 records successfully loaded****
*******************************
*******************************

I just need to get 2345 from this file and I need to store it in a variable.

Thanks

Could this help you ?
Code:
 perl -nle 'print $1 if /(\d+)/' $(ls -ltr process1_*.log | tail -1 |awk '{print $NF}')
