With your sample of 6 cols, try:

awk 'gsub(FS $3,"&")<4' infile | sort -k2,2n -k1,1

(So 4 should be 230 for 232 cols..)

Thanks a lot.

I had to change the sort parameters to meet my requirements.

OK, good, I had it sorted this way because of this remark:
