How to get every 3 lines in 1 line ?

Hello,
Code:
#cat toto
1
2
3
A
B
C

....
How can I get this output :
Code:
1 2 3
A B C

By using "awk" or "sed" or something else.
But, not "while read line" because my real file is very big, and "while read line" is slow.
Thanks in advance.
