date: invalid date
Hi All,
I am trying to convert the date of all files under a directory in seconds,
PFB script
Code:
a=`ls -lrt | wc -l`
echo $a
 for  ((i=1;i<=$a;i++))
do
A[$i]=`ls -lrt | awk '{print $6,$7,$8}' | head -$i | tail -1`
echo  ${A[$i]}
date -d '${A[$i]}' +%s
done

but I am getting error
Code:
date: invalid date `${A[$i]}'

pls help how to pass array variable to date -d command

Hi, In a field, I should receive the date with time stamp in a particular field. But sometimes the vendor sends just the date or the timestamp or correctl the date&timestamp.
