Take values from a column and put it in a variable and compare
Hi,

I have a table in unix from which i want to read the contents line by line, then filter out the values from 6th column one by one and compare it a fixed value.

How to do this?

Your sample file, and also rules of what you want to happen are needed.

You need to provide more detail...wat value you want to compare the 6th col to and what is the 6th col in this input.

my file is in this format

66677 user ip datafile activity time info

i want to take the values from the column time one by one and compare it with a fixed value say 30 and display some meassage if it true else some other message.

also i want to print the complete line which does not match the condition.i.e the complete line.
