Can any one explain me the below code.I need to know what is the exact meaning of data.

Code:

        my @times = localtime;
        $runDate =  sprintf("%04d%02d%02d", 1900 + $times[5], 1 + $times[4], $times[3]); # assume run today
}

Thanks for the link,link is good but it takes time for study.I want to understand the code on urgent basis and look into some other issue.

'localtime' function of perl returns an array, of which
1. 6th element (referred by index 5) is the current year number calculated from 1900. So, $times[5] would contain 112 for year 2012 (2012 - 1900 = 112).
2. 5th element (referred by index 4) is the month. Its 0 for Jan through to 11 for Dec. So, if $times[4] contains 3, it refers to April and hence 1 + $times[4].
3. 4th element (referred by index 3) is the date.

The year, month and date is formatted using sprintf to display in YYYYMMDD format.
