Database alias name

I am connecting to two Databases <databasename1> <databasename2>
through dbaccess tool in a script

can i have an alias name to the two Databases and connect. I have to concurrently switch between two databases

for that how to establish an alias name for the two database names.

Any help or idea would be greatly appreciated.

Code:
alias db1="export INFORMIXSERVER=database1"
alias db2="export INFORMIXSERVER=database2"

Run db1 or db2 before switching to the database1 or database2.

Hope this helps.
