And what is the new formula to match your new file format?

Are any of the fields in the file LINENUMBER, or is it the the number of the line (numbered from one).
In the new format file is the first field a date?

The formula is the same.

Each line is the LINENUMBER beginning with 1.

The first field is a year.

What Operating System and version are you running?
What Shell do you use?

The results from Corona688's code on the first set of data suggest that you have possibly transcribed the code incorrectly and have some brackets missing or misplaced. Or possibly that this is not a correctly formatted unix text file (e.g. a Microsoft format or something).
