thanks for the useful info

i meet a problem now

i use command at below to copy the file and put it in the new file (if no such file, it will create right )

cat id_rsa.pub >>~/.ssh/authorized_keys

it works for the others machine but i juz try to use it on the new machine, it give me error

bash: /home/pc2/.ssh/authorized_keys : No such file or directory

can anyone tell me why this happened ? thanks in advance for sorry for the ignorance

You're supposed to copy it to the remote machine, not the local one.

It suposed to transfer the
id_rsa.pub file to remote machine and on the remote machine , login as the remote user which you plan to use when you run scp, ssh.

Then
copy the contents of id_rsa.pub to ~/.ssh/authorized_keys

i have follow the steps , transfer to the remote machine . it works to other machine but not this 1 ..

Can tell me how to solve this ?? thanks in advance

Mandrake should be faster.

For some reason 8.1 Mandrake Linux seems much slower than Windows 2000 with my cable modem. DSL reports test says they conferable speed with Windows2 though. This is consistant slow with both of my boxes, at the same time. Linux used to be faster, but not with Mandrake. Any way to fix this? (17 Replies)
