Can I embed this perl code within my csh code? I have some CSH code written before I need the perl code you mentioned. Can I just do a #! /usr/bin/csh to get the beginning code done than #! /usr/bin/perl then run the code you mentioned and then do a #! /usr/bin/csh to finish the rest of my code?
Also, instead of printing how can I set this to a variable? Can this variable be used in csh after running your code? If this isn't possible how do you write printf portion of your code to a file?

It depends on where the ksh executable is located on your platform and what it is called.

Typically it is

Here is how to get the date format you want:

My doubt is, what if the starting date is 01-01-0001.

what is the epoch time for this??
can u plz share what is the logic behind the conversion????
