Bug add specialche. in last column
Hi Guys.

I have input file A :

Code:
ABCD JKJK 123 134 12/2
ABCD KJKJ 123 345 12/9

Output:

Code:
ABCD JKJK 123 134 '12/2
ABCD KJKJ 123 345 '12/9

I want add " ' " on column 5 before value

awk
Hi,

Try this,

Code:
awk '{gsub(/^/,sprintf("%c",39),$5);}1' file

use nawk instead of awk if you use Sun Solaris.
