Format the value of sum
I have a list of values ( in Kb) I have the following code to sum up the values and convert the total to GB

Code:
 
cat list 
 
701368101370
101370101370
801554101370
701636101370
101757101370
101876101370
901951101370

And this is the output of my script

Code:
awk '{ s += $1 } END { print "sum: ", s/1000000, "GB"}'
sum:  3.46151e+06 GB

I need to format the value of my output to be one digit only after the decimal point) : 3.5 GB instead of 3.46151e+06 GB

$ awk '{ s += $1 } END { printf "%.1f GB\n", s/1024/1024 }' inputfile
3253472.1 GB

By the way, it's not 3.5 GB, its 3.25.. million GB

Simplest way is to divide once more by 1024: s/1024/1024/1024
