help with shell script executed by php.
I made a shell script to execute a server in screen mode.

Code:
# start server
screen -d -m -S Test ./application
echo "Program Started Successfully"

than I'm executing it from php by

PHP Code:
echo shell_exec('/home/script.sh'); 
and it is giving me this error.

"cannot make directory '/var/run/screen': File exists
Program Started Successfully"

what do you think? thanks before hand.

What does "./application" mean when you're not in the same folder as the application anymore? You have no idea what php's current folder is.

And, of course, you have no idea whether screen actually worked or not since you don't check it's return value.

Code:
if screen -d -m -S Test /path/to/application
then
        echo "Program Started Successfully"
else
        echo "Program failed"
fi

This may be a problem with screen itself though.
