Help in reading parameters from file
Hi guys,

I have a parameter file in the below format.
Code:
BatchTrkId=102
BusinessUnit=GMUS
Country=US

I want to assingn each of them to a separate variables so that they can be used below in the script.

Can somebody help me out here.

You could do something like:

BTID=$(awk -F'=' '$1 == "BatchTrkId" {print $2}' paramfile.txt)

(assuming there aren't too many, and they're unique)

The syntax of your parameter file is the same as Shell. Make the parameter file executable, then execute from within your script with a "." command.

. /path_to_file/parameter_file

There was a typo in my original post - you need double-quotes.

But methyl's suggestion is nicer anyway Smilie.
