Hi.

Sure. It removes (-d) those ^M (CR - carriage returns (\r)) characters that Windows adds to each newline, in addition to the line feed (LF). Unix has just the line feed.

The old "^M issue" is well documented Smilie

To avoid these problem, use ascii mode while FTPing the file. The default mode is binary. use the following commands to switch between the two.

ftp> ascii
200 Type set to A.
ftp> binary
200 Type set to I.
ftp>
