Java New to Shell Scripting

Hi,
I've started to learn shell scripting, I need to check what is happening in the get opts loop i'm using in my scripts and I've no idea where it is going wrong. I don't think so "apeShell" is been supported in Shell scripting, can any one help me out to execute my script line by line??

what is your code?
maybe you can execute with -x parameter for debugging

Thanks for ur quick response,

my code has some parameters to be grepped and with the grepped values i should create a destination to source a txt file.

if [ $# -lt 10 ]; what does this $# mean, i cant understand this if loop;

else part has get opts, which is clear for me...

It's not a loop, it runs once.

$# is the number of arguments. So if the number of arguments is less than ten, print a load of error messages.

this means if you script get lower than 10 parameter then script echoes these

thing i learned with scripting is that you can execute commands at prompt.
try to breakdown your code piece by piece and you'll see your output.
then change the syntax as desired.

if its too tiresome, use the "bash -x <script>" to help you debug.
