Deleting end line spaces for along file

How can i clear all space characteres for a long file at the end of each line?

sed -e 's/[ ]*$//g' file
# 3

sed 's/[ ^t]*$//' file1 > file2

^t is nothing but CTRL+V followed by CTRL+I
