Shell Programming and Scripting

I have a large system housekeeping script, that I want to use with zenity.
One of the processes will be to conduct a virus scan, which I can easily do with something like:

clamscan -rv / | zenity --text-info --width 640 --height 640

The problem is that it needs user intervention by clicking on the OK button to progress to the
next stage of the script. Is there a way to auto-close the dialog box once the virus scan has completed?

Put clamscan and zenity into the background, wait for clamscan to complete, then kill zenity.

( clamscan -rv / > /tmp/fifo ) &
CLAMPID=$!
( zenity --text-info --width 640 --height 640 </tmp/fifo ) &
ZENPID=$!

wait $CLAMPID
kill $ZENPID

rm /tmp/fifo
