Copying and Renaming script

Hey all!

Sorry for the noobish question..

I am wondering how to I copy multiple files, and rename them based on their directory at once.

So, I have files like this

/logs/server/2011-10/server-1/log/file/folder/some.log.gz
/logs/server/2011-10/server-2/log/file/folder/some.log.gz
/logs/server/2011-10/server-3/log/file/folder/some.log.gz
/logs/server/2011-10/server-4/log/file/folder/some.log.gz
/logs/server/2011-10/server-5/log/file/folder/some.log.gz

Main thing is, I cannot modify any of the files in those directories.

I'd ideally like a one liner (using find or something) to search for all of the "some.log.gz" files, copy them to a new file in a different directory (say /local_review/) in the format of "server-1-some.log.gz"

Any help is greatly appreciated!

confirm the command is right, then add the red parts (|sh) to execute cp command
Code:
find /logs/server/2011-10 -type f -name "*.log.gz" |awk -F \/ '{printf "cp %s /local_review/%s-%s\n",$0,$5,$NF}' |sh

I have full read/write permissions to the source folder, would the mv command move the file?

Would replacing that with CP work?
