where did you save the file?
check the permissions

if runnign from the current dir, try './prog.awk tu.txt > tu1.txt'

do you have '/bin/nawk' installed on your system?
if you don't, change the '!/bin/nawk' to point to wherever your awk lives.

I save the file in the directory where i run the script. For example: /a/b/c and i cd to the same path to run the script.
I can run the awk from the command line from this path thou.

I did check the permission, it's 755

I tried this and here is what i get:

$ ./tt.awk tu.txt>tu1.txt
interpreter "/bin/nawk" not found
file link resolves to "/usr/bin/nawk"
sh: ./tt.awk: not found.

What do you mean by "change the '!/bin/nawk' to point to wherever your awk lives" ?

Code:
#!/bin/awk -f

FNR==1{print "V2"} {_i=$3 "," $2; printf("U%-19s%-39s%-130s%-178s%-41s%-0s00\n", $1, _i, "01/01/10", "SCAD Group Inc.", "PA01001000100100PA01011010101101AD0100100", $4)

You understand what's being done with the script, don't you?
If you don't, I would reconsider trying to execute something suggested on ANY forum and/or Internet.

Hi...again Smilie

I was just wonderding....how do i put this into crontab file.

with those command (run from the /path/directory):
./prog.awk tu.txt>tu1.txt
tp_intrfc tu1.txt

I tried to put this into the crontab file with this :

0 1 * * * /path/directory/prog.awk tu.txt>tu1.txt
0 1 * * * /path/directory/tp_intrfc tu1.txt

But they are not working. Do i need some sort of "quote" for the last command since they have space in between?

Thanks

Code:
0 1 * * * /path/directory/prog.awk /absolute/path2file/tu.txt > /absolute/path2file/tu1.txt
0 1 * * * /path/directory/tp_intrfc /absolute/path2file/tu1.txt
