sed: how to replace string by another line

hi experts,

i would like to do some html-file replacements and encounter the following problem: after cleaning up the file a bit i'd like to replace a regex with a reference and the content of another line. example:

Code:
/
\([^\-]*\) - Wikipedia
/

should be replaced by \1 (the title itself) PLUS underscore followed by the content of line lets say no. 5. so I guess it would similar to this:

Code:
s/
\([^\-]*\) - Wikipedia
/\1_*reference to line no. 5*/g

I'm sure this is not the solution but i don't know how to do it either. can anyone help?

thanks

chris

Code:
$ echo "/
\([^\-]*\) . Wikipedia
/" | awk '{print $0"\1_*reference to line no. 5*/g"}'
/
\([^\-]*\) . Wikipedia
/\1_*reference to line no. 5*/g

thanks for the quick reply. the problem here is that I would like to do the replacement as part of a sed script stored in a file. so I just use sed -f script.sed old.html > new.html. the file contains stuff like

Code:
/<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"/,/
/d
s/	//g
s/
\([^\-]*\) - Wikipedia
/\1 /g
/<meta http-equiv="Content-Type"/,//d

is it also possible to add the replacement to such a sed script?
