Just one Question Ahamed :

grep -E '^[0-9][0-9]+\.[0-9][0-9]$' IPADD this is not working fine but this is grep -E '^[0-9][0-9]\.[0-9][0-9]$' IPADD why ? why it is not working with concatenation , i am lil bit confused.

[0-9][0-9]+\.
+ means one or many
so it will look for as many numbers till it finds . in your case

you can use the same regex with sed also if you have trouble with grep
Code:
sed -n 's/^[0-9][0-9]\.[0-9][0-9]$/&/p' input_file

got it now , i thought + was for concatenation , but i was wrong it is used for many occurences.
thanks a lot ahamed
