uuencode - .csv file password protection

HI,

Can we add password protection for attachment of .CSV file in below command or any alternative solution.

uuencode ../reports/gtsa_lmt_pb_rfs_daily.txt gtsa_lmt_pb_rfs_daily-$FILDTE.csv |mailx -s "gtsa_lmt_pb_rfs_daily" $MAILTO

The uuencode command just takes binary and encodes it in visible ascii characters 6 bits per character. I do not see any password or encrypt. Try zip with the encode option. Your mail will be shorter, too, and the encryption more effective on the more random zip bytes. Or, pipe it through crypt or the like:

I was not able to success in doing zip with the encode option of password.

please can you help me.

That's compress, try zip, the archiving compression program with a passord option:
