New line in shell/PHP script
hi all,

I wrote a PHP script inside which am calling a shell script,

In shell script, i used echo to output some results.

In PHP script i just gave echo to the shell script output. But i couldn't enter the output in newline.

Please help me!

In shelscript.sh

done

Here "\r" "\n" are not working as newline character.

in what format you are getting the output of below command ?

echo $out

if you getting the output as word by word ( as in newline ), then try

echo "$out"
# 3

yes am getting the output word by word.

if i use "$out" inside PHP, no results!

i tried to give,

echo '<table bgcolor='#E4F7FF' border='3'><tr><td>"$out"</td></tr>';

Use -e with echo
Code:
[root@server ~]# echo -e "Line1\nLine2"
Line1
Line2
[root@server ~]# echo "Line1\nLine2"
Line1\nLine2

you are using ' (single quote), then the value $out will not print in the screen.

Code:
echo 'foo is $foo'; // foo is $foo
