Network TCL script-open commands
Hi,

I have script to open a file through tcpdump program. However,
the script is not opening the file.

Code:
set lne [open "|tcpdump -r filename "]
....
while {[gets $lne line1] >=0} {
...
some conditions
}

The code is not opening the tcpdump. I'm not sure the cause of the problem. Might be the path as I not expert in setting the path in linux. I'm using ubuntu and I include the header:

Any suggestions??

You forgot to say the command would write to tcl with a 'w'; Running other programs from Tcl - exec, open
