i need help to extract the filename
i tried using the command
above value is stored into sample.txt file
output is coming as uhg10div1 and i need the output as
uhg10div1 _listload1 _01132011.txt( i know in the file having spaces but i need as it is)

as I mentioned in my previous post, your solutions (cut & awk) work for his example line. but if the filename contains more than 3 spaces, your solutions will fail.
