Help with Shell script
My Mgr wants below input text file to give output as CSV file using shell script :input file ( Comma is the delimiter)

You can do formatting with printf:

awk -F, -v "w1=23" -v "w2=60" '
   NR==1{gsub(/-/,"",$0); printf("%-"w1"s %-"w2"s\n",$1,$2)}
   NR>1  {printf("%-"w1"s %-"w2"s\n"),$1,$2}' < input

Is an example for first 2 columns, and should give you a start. w1, w2 are widths of columns, you can pass them on to awk through -v switch as shown.

The above code is working., could you please help with code for above "output file" conversion to CSV Format..

Request you to please add other columns in above awk script as when iam adding those columns with widths ., iam unable to get proper format output ..Thanks for reply

Actually, your input is in CSV (Comma Separated Values) format.

To format it as you want, adjust the values of w1-6 (widths of columns):

i also need a shell script if to get "CSV separated Input file" from output file (spaces separated) as given ...I mean reverse one..including 5 comma's in every line as given in CSV separated input file...

The other way is tricky, because you got spaces inside the fields, like
