Linking two tasks in a script

Hi, I have a question.

I have a file that I need to do two things to.

The first thing I need to do is turn a file with lines before and after a line with the term "Acceptance" into only the "Acceptance" line and every line thereafter. I am using this:

grep -A1000000 "Acceptance" Brown_DL > output

THEN, I need to do an awk statement on that file:

#! /usr/bin/awk -f

NR==1
NR>1{ for (i=1; i<=NF; i++) { a[i]+=$i; }}
END { if (NR > 1) { for (i=1;i<=NF;i++) {printf a[i]/(NR-1) "\t";} } print ""; }

============

So, that awk thingy is its own script (thank you, unix.com). I have been doing
./awkscript output > final_results

But it would be great to just have one script that did both things together. I have no idea how to link these things together into a scrips, so I can run it on any input file. I would appreciate any help!!!

Thanks

Mikey

what is your input and expected output?

how about just piping the grep output into the awk command?
Code:
grep -A1000000 "Acceptance" Brown_DL | awk '
    NR==1
    NR>1{ for (i=1; i<=NF; i++) { a[i]+=$i; }}
    END { if (NR > 1) { for (i=1;i<=NF;i++) {printf a[i]/(NR-1) "\t";} } print ""; }' > final_results
