Do you have Perl there?

Is there any way you could explain this to me or point me in the right direction where I can look at docs for this?

To learn Perl, you should read O'Reilly books about it. Quick explanation:
perl -pe 'BEGIN{open I,"File2";chomp(@a=<I>);}load File2 lines into @a array.
s/((\S+\s+){5})(\S+)(\s+)/\1$a[$.-1]\4/substitute sixth occurrence of "<word><spaces>" with element of an @a array, containing corresponding line from File2. \1 contains all the words and spaces before sixth column. \4 contains spaces after sixth column.
' File1execute substitution on File1

Try this with your "Hp-ux awk"
