Chubler_XL, using your suggestion, I updated my script to this:

# Configure variables
OLD_EXT=.flv
NEW_EXT=.mp4

for f in *$OLD_EXT; do
  [ -f "$f" ] || continue
  NEW_FILE=${f%$OLD_EXT}$NEW_EXT
  echo "Old File: " $f
  echo "New File: " $NEW_FILE
  
done

Note that I changed your line:

[ -f "$file" ] || continue

to
Code:
[ -f "$f" ] || continue

In order to work on my side, hope this is ok to do.

Yes, my typo originally in using $file (It's the variable I usually have for these sort of loops) instead of $f!
