Bug merge files
hi,

i've two files whcih i need to merge in below format.

Code:
File1-
   DEFINE
       lc_driver   CHAR(3)
    INITIALIZE gr_XXX_MAIN_TABLE_XXX.* TO NULL
{
    EXECUTE p_XXX_MAIN_TABLE_XXX_ins USING gr_XXX_MAIN_TABLE_XXX.*
}

File2 -
 
# field1
LET table1.field1= 
 
# field2
LET table1.field2=

Code:
Out File-
 
DEFINE

Please may i know the command to do this in a shell.

Thanks. I've just modified this to merge in case it finds a { symbol.

But i dont understand the use of number "1" in the above command. Pls clarify.

awk '$0=="{"{system ("cat File2")}1' File1is equivalent to awk '$0=="{"{system ("cat File2")}{print $0}' File1

It works find when i use it from the command prompt for already existing files. But when i use this in a shell where the file1 & file2 are being created, im not getting the expected output in the outfile. It looks same as file1, is there any option to commit the file2 contents before proceeding to this awk command?
